APCG 493 Work Progress Week 1 Semester Plan 1/24/14

Hello and welcome to my APCG 493 blog page. I'll post my 3D modeling work here on this blog as I work and progress on it.

What I want to accomplish this semester:

1 - Remodel, UV, and texture some of my previous 3D models and refine them.

2- Refine my UV and texturing skills.

3- Learn more about human body 3D topology and workflow.

4- Learn how to restructure and model my bipedal workflow and geometry so that they can be rigged and animated.

5- Learn how to model ears, lips,  hands, mouth, eyes, and feet more efficiently for rigging and animation.


Project 1: Remodel, UV, and texture Chun Li model. Low poly game character type model.

Project 2: Remodel, UV, and texture Ogre model. Low poly game character type model.

Project 3(Optional): Model an evil villain model if there is still enough leftover time. Low poly game character type model.


Weekly Plan Work Schedule:


January 

Week 1: Planning Ideas

Week 2: Draw concept art for Chun Li model.


February

Week 3: Remodel low poly Chun li model 

Week 4: Continue modeling Chun Li character

Week 5: Sculpt model

Week 6: UV model


March
 
Week 7: Texture model

Week 8: Render model and make turntable. Project 1 Finished. Done by March 15, 2014.

Week 9: Start project 2, redraw concept art model for Ogre game character.

Week 10: Remodel low poly Ogre game character.


April

Week 11: Continue modeling Ogre character.

Week 12: Re-sculpt Ogre character.

Week 13: UV Ogre model.

Week 14: Texture Ogre model.


May

Week 15: Render and make turntable for Ogre model. Project 2 Finished. Done by May 2, 2014.

Week 16: Catch up with project 1 and 2 work if they aren't finished by now. If both project 1 and 2 are done in time, then start working on project 3 of a low poly evil villain game character.
 





Project 1: This is a previous low poly Chun Li game character model that I had modeled in the past. I want to remodel, UV, and texture this model again with the new experiences and refined skills that I have learned so far. I can see some mistakes on this previous model and have some ideas on improving it.





Project 2: This is a previous low poly ogre game character that I also modeled in the past. There are quite a lot of mistakes that I made on this one and I plan on remodeling, re-UVing, re-sculpting, and re-texturing this model. I might think about adding in armor and garments for the character.
