APCG 493 Work Progress Week 10 March 3/28/14

Here is my week 10 current work progress of my ogre model. I've gotten a bit faster at modeling thanks to some experience and techniques that I learned from my previously finished game character. So far I've completed most of the basic mesh for my ogre game character. There are still a lot of unnecessary edge loops that I have on my basic mesh ogre character but those are only there for connecting all the components of my character's meshes together and I will clean up those edge loops later as I add more geometry detail.

I haven't added in the nostrils and the mouth yet on the face because I still need to clear some geometry and edge loops from some parts of the body first before going in and detailing the face. I feel the eyes are a bit too close, so I'll widen them next time and also model in my ogre's third eye on top of his forehead. I'll also add in the ears later once I finish detailing the face and head.

I did a quick modeling of the hand and got down some basic structure for the shape. I didn't want to add more geometry and edge to the hand because I didn't want to struggle connecting the hand to the body with its many edges if I did detail it. So I kept it basic and attached it to the body first before refining it any further. I'll probably use the same hand techniques that I used for modeling my previous Chun Li model's hand.

Once I'm done refining my ogre model, I'll start on modeling his armor accessories and weapon.

APCG 493 Current Work Progress Week 9 March 3/21/14

This is my second low poly game character that I modeled in the past. You can see that there's a lot of things that need to be changed and fixed about this model. So I've decided to completely redesign the model again.

This is the new redesigned concept art model reference that I drew for my new ogre model. I made the character more taller, leaner, muscular, and kind of hunched. I think I will add some armor and weaponry later to him.

Here is the concept art with armor on. The character has a rounded metal bar gauntlet/shin guard, hellhound skull sash with metal bells around it, and a hard leather garb.

APCG 493 Current Work Progress Midterm 3/11/14

I'm remodeling my old low poly game character of Chun Li. These are some of the references that I use to redraw my concept art references.

This is my old basic mesh model from my previous game character. Much of the geometry needs to be realigned and refixed.

Here is my new Chun Li game character and wireframe. I refixed a lot of the geometry, edge loops, and edge flows. I also fixed the edge loops and edge flows on my character so that my model can be rigged and animated later in the future.

Here are my UVs, texture maps, and eye texture. So far I have become better at UVing and texturing. I have also improved on my problem solving skills in fixing some issues with my UVs, textures, and model.

This is the final version of my Chun Li low poly game character model. I sculpted the rest of the muscles and normals in Mudbox and also edit some of my texture maps in Mudbox too. I also fix parts of my character's lips and sculpted in some lip details too. Finally, I was able to learn some good eye drawing and creation techniques for my character's eyes.

Here is my game character turn table.
