APCG 493 Fall 2014 Final 12/15/14

Recapping the stuff that I did over this semester. Along with my most recent renders and changes to my models.

Original Previous Tiger Model

This is my previous original tiger model that I made from 3 semesters ago. I'm doing a total redesign of this model again.

Tiger Model Reference from online sources and credit to whomever uploaded it.

These are the tiger reference images that I used in order to remodel and redesign my second tiger model.

Base Mesh Tiger Model

This is my newly designed tiger model. I made my new tiger model a bit more leaner and slender from my previous tiger model. Added a spiked mace like club for the tail and later hair for the head.

Tiger Model Texture Maps and Other Maps

Here are the UV, diffuse, normal, specular, and ambient occlusion maps for my tiger model.

Ice Tiger Render 2 Updated
Here, I updated my tiger model and changed his hair from regular yellow to ice yellow hair.

Original Stylized Character Model
This from one of my early character model with lots of problems on it. I plan on redesigning him.

Online Reference of Mr. Incredible
I used an online reference of Mr. Incredible and made some minor changes to him to suit my model.

APCG 493 Fall 2014 Current Progress 12/09/14

During this semester I overhauled my old models and redesigned them. I wanted to refine my old models with my improved skills. This semester I redesigned my old tiger model first because it was the most troublesome model of the two models that I'm modeling this semester. I worked on modeling out the geometry correctly and making the mesh polygons more uniformly spaced. After the tiger mesh was completed I UVed the model with some UVing advice from Frank Piera using Maya 2015. The new UV method that I learned was quicker and easier use than previous methods that I had used. From there on I continued to proceed on sculpting my tiger's normal map in Mudbox. The normal map was also problematic when applied to my tiger model and created messy depressions and edgy meshes on the tiger model. I eventually fixed it with help from my colleagues and Frank on fixing the problem. The newest thing I learned in this semester was the use of the ambient occlusion map which adds shadow and light to my model when applied with the other texture maps and makes a difference in the final renders of my model. My second model was an overhaul of my stylized character model. It underwent the same modeling and texturing process just like my tiger model and was finished quickly too. My stylized character also has a very cartoon and texturing.
