APCG 493 Fall 2014 Week 14 12/02/14 progress to Week 15 12/05/14

Near the end of this week I've been experimenting the lighting renders on my character and tiger model. It seems like I'm not getting the desired lighting effect on my render scenes. So it's trail and error right now for me in getting the desired light source for my render models. I'm currently using the point and directional lights for as my light source. The shadows from the light sources do cause a bit of a problem for the model because it will block or darken a certain with detail on my models. I haven't experimented with final gather yet on my lighting but I assume it will slow down the rendering process when I do the batch renders for my turntable.

I've also been testing the glass material shaders for my tiger model's stage floor. So far it looks great with the sphere textured background I encased my tiger model in but then I also don't want the sphere background to be seen too. But that also creates a problem for the glass material because it needs to background to reflected the necessary lighting to make the glass material to reflect the necessary texture color and properties. I'll have to experiment with both my model's lighting during the weekend and just get the best lighting result I can get from my experiments and render them.

I also remade a new ambient occlusion map for my tiger model since the previous once was too dark. I also received advice from King Chang on properly applying the ambient occlusion to my model and combining it with my diffuse map.

The render looks fine at the moment but I might change it a bit later. I'll also be adding some gum, teeth, and a tongue for both my tiger and character model later. It's these small little things that I keep forgetting to add but I'll just make them simple.
