Got done with most of my model during thanksgiving break and this week. I shortened the arms of my character because it was too long and it made him look like a gorilla. In addition, I also made the hands a bit smaller. After finishing the sculpting for my character model, I ran into some problems with the normal map again. The normal map came out all wrong and messy. There appears to be some replicated image appearing on the normal map when I applied it to my character. It took me a while through trial and error to later fix the normal map problem. It turned out to be the result of the normal extraction options in Mudbox being incorrect for the method of scanning the low and high resolution models. So after choosing the correct options, my normal map was working fine on my character model. I also later made my specular and ambient occlusion maps after finishing both my normal and diffuse maps. The ambient occlusion map appears to be edgy and doesn't quite wrap around the entire character model with its shadows. I need to remake another ambient occlusion map later.
